The Duke's Consort is a collective of young performers passionate about repertoire at the end of the 17th century, and bringing it to life in performances that strive to replicate the practices of the time. Formed from collaborations at the Royal Academy of Music and the University of Oxford, it works flexibly from intimate chamber performances to upcoming concerts with some of the largest scale performances of its repertory in the UK.
In March 2026, we were delighted to win the Royal Academy of Music's Nancy Nuttall Prize for Early Music. Our performance of Pelham Humfrey's By the Waters of Babylon featured (from left to right) Katherine Gregory, Archie Inns, Verena Eggensberger, Ela Kodzas, Luke Mitchell, Alex Hopkins, Joseph Hancock and Theo Nisbett.
